Ufond Blog. Who is who, or on guard of humanism

What makes a man a man? At first glance, this is a question from the category of banal-template questions such as: What is good and evil? What is love? What is happiness? What is tolerance? What is altruism? What is indifference? .. Agree that each of us has heard such things at least once in his life, thought about them and, I sincerely hope that at least once in his life still found answers to them.

But in fact, such issues are one of the most important. One of those that distinguish man in a separate species from all living beings on our planet. One of those that give us the opportunity to think, analyze and dream; conquer new peaks; sometimes - to be defeated, but always to rise; believe that the next morning you will see the dawn on the horizon again. But one of those that, in fact, make a person a man.

The main feature of these issues is their relevance. They are out of time. And it does not matter whether it is a historical time with its chronology of events and epochs, or continental, or human physical and age. And I think that’s good. It is good that in our postmodern century, when flights to Mars are taking place, genetic engineering is advancing, tunnels are being built under the seas, there is room for open feelings, sincere emotions and warm human communication and care, good deeds and sudden tenderness.

But there is another side. And she is not so optimistic. If there is a need for such and similar issues-indicators, then something is wrong in society and there is a place for crimes against humanity.
For Ukrainian society today, these issues are more relevant than ever, given that the war in our country is not the first year. Of course, war is a tragedy that devalues the most precious thing - human life. At the same time, war is a phenomenon that promotes the development of civil society, exposes all human strings of the individual, tears off masks and removes makeup from powerful men, unites society.
This war aroused in Ukrainian society a civic initiative - a volunteer movement, which has now grown into a conscious civic position and helps save and save lives not only at the front but also in peaceful areas of our country, and not only adults who find themselves in surprisingly difficult lives. circumstances, but also to children who fight for their right to life every day.
A volunteer is one who stands guard over humanity. He has many names - Angel, Guardian Angel, Hope, Dream, Life, Salvation, Faith… At the official legislative level, a volunteer is a volunteer. Now it is so. And until 2003, the authorities were not interested in the humanism of these people and useless, socially important activities in Ukraine. And only on December 10, 2003, the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On approval of the regulations on volunteering in the field of social services" appeared. This was one of the first steps towards the foundations of a humanistic society. Subsequently, on April 19, 2011 - the Law of Ukraine "On Volunteering". Then there was the Decree of the President of Ukraine "On the strategy of state policy to promote the development of civil society in Ukraine and priority measures for its implementation" of March 24, 2012.

So, there is a volunteer-humanist, there is a humane Law, there is a humane society…
So far, in the third position we put three dots and hope for the best. Because the experience of recent years shows that not all citizens of Ukraine believe that you can help just like that, not for money, but from the heart, that your property and wealth can be shared voluntarily, and when you share, you should not to call a donation (we are not pagans, we do not sacrifice anyone or anything) and we should not tell about it to everyone and all means of communication, hoping at the same time for a reward. And when volunteers voluntarily plant young trees and shrubs in the parks to make the eye look nice, and it is good for the ecology of the air we all breathe, we should not become vandals and dig up those green, innocent plantings at night. to their home or country house, "humanely" denying, they say, they will still be broken and trampled.
By the way, such phenomena are also called differently. Some describe them as "rudeness", "immorality", some - as "abuse of other people’s rights", some - as "aesthetic crime". The state calls it, at best, an "administrative fine." But in these cases, of course, the name is not so fundamental. What can not be said about the word "disabled" and the people who are associated with this word both at the state level and at the public level.
First of all, based on the principles of humanistic ethics, each person is unique. In other words, more domestic, it is created in a single copy, with its own set of vital tools, talents, talents, aptitudes and skills unique to it. Accordingly, the way to implement a life plan for a unique person is unique. And "unique" is not in the sense of not being like others, but in the sense of its own, special. And people in a healthy society (psychologically and politically) are not similar in similarity, but similar in their dissimilarity. They are united by the uniqueness of each. Humanism in such a society is manifested in respecting this feature of everyone. Do not condemn, do not try to correct, do not ignore, do not sort out illusory non-formats, do not impose your preferences, namely ON-YOU.

Secondly, each individual, despite its specificity and uniqueness, has the right and opportunity to realize and actualize themselves in society, has the right to education, employment, citizenship, self-affirmation. It is EQUAL in its RIGHTS and FREEDOMS with every member of this society.
The problem of today’s society is that this idea of humanistic ethics is regarded as, on the contrary, the separation of a certain category of people into a certain group. This group used to be called disabled. This is wrong, offensive and inhumane. Now the name has been changed - people with special needs - a little more humane. Do you know why "with special needs"? Because the government of the country cannot provide at the proper level LEVELS (equal, worthy, high-quality) LIVING CONDITIONS FOR ALL without exception to the citizens of their state.
Only with such discrediting at the state level do the people who win the Olympic Games become winners of music competitions, paint beautiful paintings, and for some reason have to feel unworthy of their victories, either inferior or limited. These people are NOT LIMITED in their movements or perceptions of the world around them, as it may seem at first glance, these people simply have their own way of realizing their unique life plan and their set of physical and mental tools for this.
We have to respect that. And the government must respect this and show it by its concrete actions - to build ramps to cinemas, shops, museums, houses, government agencies, educational institutions; build convenient and comfortable for all land, underground transport, pay more attention to inclusive education, follow the example of Henry Ford and his employment system, etc.
And finally, for some reason it happened that a person seeks to compare himself with others. This should not be done. After all, we are all different. And they are equal only in this difference. But, if you really want to compare someone or something, please, there is a way out - compare yourself yesterday with yourself today. Because only in this way the criteria of comparison will be correct. And if as a result of such a comparison you became better than you were yesterday - you’re great, you can praise yourself. If not, work harder on yourself, because everyone makes themselves, polishes and constantly improves. "It is not enough to be born a person - you still have to become one."
